Pendulum is a drum and bass/breaks group from Perth, Australia. In 2003, the group relocated to the United Kingdom. They have no affiliation with the late 1990s Melbourne based electronic group of the same name who released the album 3 Knocks.

The group is comprised of Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul Harding. In 2005 they released their debut album, Hold Your Colour. Critically, the album was well-received in both the United Kingdom and Australia. In addition, it was one of the biggest selling Drum and bass releases of all time. Pendulum have also collaborated with The Freestylers, releasing the single Fasten Your Seatbelt. MC Spyda and Tenor Fly also feature as vocalists on Tarantula. They are currently signed to the Breakbeat Kaos Records label.

The Pendulum sound is typically heavy beats accompanied by low, buzzing basslines, overlaid with epic synthesized leads. They've produced various remixes of other artists, the most well-known being their remix of "Voodoo People" by The Prodigy.

Otherwise known as Mala, Coki and Loefah, Digital Mystikz hail from Norwood, a dull south London suburb where the local entertainment consists of Crystal Palace FC and very little else. Perhaps that’s one reason why this trio of young producers have sought to inject so much energy and dynamism into their music.

Mala & Coki’s alternately militant and melodic first release on Big Apple Records is still pricking up ears, while a pipeline of dubs (released via their own label DMZ) have been receiving heavy rotation from Youngsta and Hatcha on Rinse Fm 100.3, and the fat soundsystems of Forward.

While it seems likely that their range of styles will diversify, it is their keen understanding of Jamaican dancehall science that sets the Mystikz apart. Basslines are warm and sub-low, but they hit like liquid concrete. Rhythmically, the Mystikz’ dubstep sound (unlike Horsepower for example) isn’t mediated via the slinky syncopations of 2-step garage, but moves instead with a more tribal edge.

Loefah’s ‘Twisup’ snatches a pounding 909-kick from its 4/4 heritage, and slams it into an accelerated bashment pattern. Then there’s his hyper-percussive ‘Indian’, which takes its inspiration from Miami Bass. Or Coki’s ‘Heartless Ninja’, ‘Jah Fire’ or ‘Lost City’ - all of which compress 30 years of dub soundsystem culture into five minutes of tuneful vibratory rumble, laced with off-key, synth stabs and reverberation. Coki’s sound is probably the most faithful to dancehall. It’s Mala’s ‘Give Jah the Glory’ though that ranks up there with Horsepower’s ‘Classic Deluxe’ in that imaginary archive of dub-step classics.

Ahí los dejo con una cancion de Dj hype un vato q se dedica al drum n bass y segun mi base de datos (cheke) es el mas oldschool, o entre los mas oldschool.
El drum'n'bass tiene tantas facetas rítmicas que puedes bailar de formas muy diversas. Unos bailan al ritmo de la línea de bajos, otros al son de la percusión, también al tempo (velocidad o bpm’s) o al ritmo de los stabs. Se trata de una danza frenética y libre en la que todos los músculos se activan y descargan, y en la que sobresalen los breakdanz y bailes de ballet minimales y acelerado, pero en fin... hare halago al ya mencionado dj hype Se llama Kevin Ford pero en el barrio todo el mundo le conoce como Dj Hype. De los pocos que puede toser en términos de popularidad a los Grooverider, Goldie, y LTJ Bukem. De hecho, Kevin es al drum and bass lo que Africa Bambaataa significó para el desarrollo del hip hop.
Su experiencia en el estudio empezó coproduciendo los ya clásicos 'Exorcist' y 'The Bee' como The Scientist en Kickin antes de realizar trabajos para otros sellos, entre ellos el mitico Suburban Base, en el que editó ‘Drum and Bass Selection', una pieza muy buscada hoy en dia por todos los amantes del jungle-drum and bass y éxitos como "Trooper" o "Shot in the Dark" en FFRR. Después de estos importantes éxitos, Hype no tardaría en sacar su propio sello Ganja en 1993, trabajando estrechamente con su amigo Pascal y ex compañero en Suburban Base. "Cops" fue la primera referencia del sello Ganja y le siguió el mítico "Ganja Man" y el legendario "Super Sharp Shooter" de dj Zinc. Más tarde aparecería su álbum "Still Smoking", una colaboración con Frontline Records de Pascal. Hype fundamenta el éxito de su sello en la improvisación: "Ganja nunca quiso ser algo, nunca planee construir nada desde ahí, y fue solo una improvisación puesto que quería un sello para colocar en él algunos temas. Según se fue desarrollando el sello, y sin que yo tuviera que hacer nada, me di cuenta de que si yo decidía esforzarme en algo, podría construir algo realmente fuerte".
